MIDOP is a tool for easily transforming macroseismic intensity data tables into interactive maps that do not require any third party product.

What do you need

  • A table with a list of earthquakes
  • A table with a list of intensity points related to each earthquake
  • A PC equipped with a local webserver (Apache, PHP and MySQL)
  • A copy of MIDOP

What do you have to do

  • copy the MIDOP folder to your PC local Apache webserver
  • upload the two input tables to the MySQL server on your PC
  • by using the point-and-click MIDOP control panel:
    • link each table field to the corresponding MIDOP field
    • customize the output website visual layout
    • preview on your PC the output website
    • generate the output website files
  • copy the pre-generated files from your PC to a public webserver

Public webserver requirements

  • a standard webserver (e.g. Apache, Lighttpd)
  • no need for a database servers (no MySQL, no PostgreeSQL)
  • no server side scripting language required (no ASP, no PHP, no PERL)
  • no external resources for maps (no Google Maps, no OpenStreetMap)
